The Fitness Floor
Everyone must now scan their cards at the fitness desk upon
entering, thank you for your cooperation.

Our spacious fitness floor is located on the second floor in
the recreation facility. It is exciting to have Techno Gym
as our main equipment machine line. They use the latest
technology to help make all movements of the machines simple
and natural. We offer a full selection for every muscle
group, as well as many free weight options. Some of these
include incline and horizontal bench presses with barbells,
a full range of dumbbell weights, a plate loaded leg press,
a cross over cable and a multi-power (Smith) machine. Our
cardio equipment is state of the art and very
user-friendly. Treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent and
upright bikes are all equipped with TVs and IPod docking
stations. |

Athletic clothing is required at
all times while on the fitness floor. This includes shorts,
pants, leotards, sweat suits and tennis shoes or close toed
shoes. If you are wearing jeans/denim, belts, boots, open
toed shoes or you are wet from the pool, you will not be allowed
on the fitness floor.

Free Fitness Floor Orientation Offered for Adults
New to the gym or need a fitness refresher? Come join us for an
informative session.
Sign-up sheet is located at the Fitness
Desk.
If you are unfamiliar with the fitness floor equipment,
please see the fitness desk prior to using the equipment.

Only children ages 13 years
and older
are permitted on the
Fitness Floor.
All 13-15 year olds must be accompanied by a
parent or guardian at all times while on the fitness floor or
while participating in any group fitness class.
Mandatory Teen Certification
Course All teens 13-15 years old must successfully
complete this course and quiz prior to working out on the fitness
floor. Tuesday 4:30pm & 7:00pm or Saturday 12:00pm

Little Ninja: this program is for children
from ages 3 to 5 years old. Here they will learn about
focus, balance, control, teamwork, memory, discipline,
fitness, and coordination; Basically a Martial Arts
pre-school. The elements listed will be taught through games
so the children can gain a better understanding on what each
mean. (30 minute class – 1x per week; $40 monthly)
Tae kwon-Do: a traditional art from Korea
developed by General Choi Hong Hi in 1955. This is a self
defense art that teaches a series of kicks and hand
techniques. The art is a militant so there will be lots of
discipline involved. Tae kwon-Do teaches its students about
these tenants: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self
Control, and Indomitable Spirit. This art can be taught to
ages 6 to adults. (1 hour class – 2x per week; $60 monthly)
Instructor: Titus Olayinka Durojaiye
Titus has trained children Tae kwon-Do for over seven years.
He has taught children as young as 3 years old. For 17 years
he trained under the International Tae kwon-Do Federation.
During his experience at an early age up to his current age
of 24 he has participated in Tae kwon-Do camps, testing’s,
seminars and tournaments.

exercise and eat well during the summer, so come join our
fun, get in shape and take care of your health with us
this summer by accepting our challenge! |

Challenge runs thru August 8th.
All activities must take place at our JCP Recreation Center,
Sports Plex or Aquatics Complex
Each individual/ family accumulates and tracks points daily.
Please refer to the list below of approved activities for
individuals and/or families to complete. Department Staff
must initial to verify completion of each activity,
immediately following the conclusion of the activity.
The listed activities will remain the same for 4 weeks, and
then the last 4 weeks they will vary. You may pick up the
daily activity log sheets at the fitness desk.

will learn the essentials of basketball including ball
handling, passing, shooting, offense & defense. We will
work with all areas of your game for your improvement.
Sessions will run between the hours of 5-6pm M-W-F, or
Sat. 9am-12pm
Pre-registration & Payment

at the facility front desk or at the SportsPlex.
